On October 14th, 2024, just before 6am CDT / 1100UTC, I heard what I believe was KNLS transmitting on 9580kHz. If this was, indeed KNLS - it was a first heard for me using the Tecsun S-2000 with its telescoping whip antenna and a 16ft clip-on wire extension strung around the room indoors.
The signal quality was admittedly quite poor, but I could make out the songs and could tell a bit into the 1100-1200 hour that the language in use was probably Russian, which agreed with what was listed on the shortwave-info website.
From the KNLS dot ORG website, it seems that the first song "Something Just Like This," by the Chainsmokers & Coldplay, was played just before the station changed transmitters from TX1 with an azimuth of 270 to TX2 with an azimuth of 300 for their Russian programming.
At 1100UTC there were a few seconds of musical tones, followed by a voice which may have been in Russian, but at this point the signal was pretty muddled by atmos. I was unable to make out a station ID if one was in there, but immediately afterward, the voice was followed by the song "Love Again," by Kid LAROI.
SINPO: S-3 I-5 N-2 P-2 O-2
Here is a short video clip of the signal at the top of the 1100UTC hour:
